Inherited hair loss represents more than 95 % among male humans. At around the age of 35 years two thirds af of all males experience unwanted hair loss. After the age of 50 years the number rises to 85 %. Several females also face unwanted hair loss. Of all individuals with hair loss in the USA roughly 40% are women.
The need for effective products is immense. The global market for alopecia (hair loss) was estimated to 7.3 BUSD in 2015.
